INTERLIBRARY LOAN
Library materials which are not available in the Dougherty County Public Library or through the PINES consortium can be obtained  through Interlibrary Loan. Interlibrary Loan is a service provided to any person holding a current PINES card, provided that the account holder does not have 10 or more overdue items or owe $10.00 or more in unpaid fines and/or fees. Generally, most libraries will not lend:
  • Genealogy Books
  • Audiovisual Materials
  • Books published within the last 18 months
  • Newspapers and magazines in their entirety
Interlibrary Loan requests can be placed in person at any branch or fill out the form here.
LOST OR FORGOTTEN LIBRARY CARD
  • Library cards are set to expire for the purpose of updating patron information every two years.  At the time of renewal, a lost card can be replaced at no charge, however any outstanding overdue fines will have to be paid.   Your card or Government ID is needed to check out materials.
WHY DOESN'T THIS CARD WORK?
  • The card may be expired. Every two years the library account expires for the purpose of updating the patron information.  Lost or worn library cards may be replaced free of charge at the time of renewal.  However, any accumulated overdue fines will need to be paid.
  • The pin number might need to be reset. A library assistant can test the pin number and/or reset the pin number.
  • The library account has a fine.  Library users with fines will not be able to use the computer until the fine has been paid off or a payment plan has been established.
  • Using an old card.  Once a new library card is issued, the old library card is no longer valid for any library use.
